The Doha Metro is a massive metro project in Doha, the capital of Qatar. The Doha Metro is one of the most important projects in Qatar’s infrastructure development. The network is designed to improve mobility in the city, reduce congestion and provide sustainable public transport for Doha residents and visitors. 

Once completed, this metro connection will cover 211 km, spread over 4 lines with a total of 85 stations. In collaboration with the manufacturer of the EPDM profiles that connect the tunnel segments, Bekina BeSealed developed a water-swellable insert (our Bekina BeSealed Sealing Insert). 

In the event of water infiltration, the swellable strip ensures a quick seal. Leakage doesn’t stand a chance here. Due to the extremely high salt content of the groundwater in Doha, this round profile was produced in the revolutionary Superswell material. 

The Doha Metro construction project attracted much international attention because of its size, complexity and strategic significance for Qatar. It will have a lasting impact on Doha‘s mobility and development and contribute to achieving the country’s sustainable development goals. We are honored to contribute to this project.
